Volunteer
There are many ways to get involved and volunteer at The Bonneville House Association, both on the front end and behind the scenes. Our volunteer program is very competitive, therefore, volunteer placement is not guaranteed. Applications will be reviewed to determine if there are open volunteer opportunities that match each applicants skillset. When a possible fit is found, an applicant will be contacted for an interview.
Time Commitment
Minimum: 3 consecutive months, 4 hours per week
NOTE: Most volunteer opportunities occur during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Evening and/or weekend opportunities may be possible depending on volunteer position that is assigned.
Requirements
- Volunteer application
- Updated resume
- Two professional references
- Successfully pass a federal background check
- Interview with The Bonneville House Volunteer Committee (minors must have a parent/legal guardian complete & sign a Parent Consent Form prior to interview)
Training
- A one-hour orientation. If job specific training is required, it is provided by the project supervisor on an individual basis
Volunteer Opportunities
Administrative: general office support (answering phones, filing, data entry)
Organizing: Sort event supplies, monitor inventory, ect…
Archival: catalogue organizing and sort paper materials, photographs, ect…
Development: research prospective corporate, individual, and foundation donors. Research grants.
Tourism & Education: schedule & host tours, respond to public inquiries, and provide administrative assistance.
Welcome Desk: Greet visitors, answer phone, respond to voicemails, respond to rental inquiries.
Membership: Promote membership, seek new members, assist with mailings, developing flyers & newsletter, and maintaining membership database.
Public Affairs: prepare packets, assist with special events and media relations.
Fundraising: Assist event chair, co-chairs & special events committee with upcoming fundraisers, collect donations; work a shift at a fundraiser.
Housekeeping/Decorating: Help decorate the house for the holidays, fundraisers and special events. Perform light housekeeping
Marketing/Networking: Act as an Ambassador for The Bonneville House; promote upcoming events, membership, rentals and social media ads.
